There’s an old Buddhist saying,  “Yesterday is history tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.”  Staying  in the present eliminates stress.    The best way to stay in the present is by learning to focus on your breathing, which is the first step of any meditation practice.  The next time you are feeling stressed, find a quiet place and breath through your nose.  Put your focus on your breath.  Each time your mind wanders to a thought, refocus your attention on your breath.  Do this over and over.  It will calm your mind, organize your thoughts, and help your anxiety disappear.
